Enchanted

Nancy, wake up. Trust your gut. You can do so much better. This week Raven and Campbell discuss healthy boundaries in relationships, animation in live action films, and the absolutely stacked cast in the 2007 animated/live action musical, Enchanted.
 
The Sour Apple Recipe:
- 1 oz gin
- 0.5 oz elderflower liqueur
- 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1-3 dashes aromatic bitters
- Sparkling apple cider
 
Combine gin, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice in a shaker with ice. Strain into a flute and top with sparkling apple cider. Add some bitters if you feel like it. Go crazy. Live your truth.

An American Tail

Unfortunately for my allergies, there are in fact cats in America. This week Raven and Campbell discuss favorite cheeses for all occasions, lessons in parenting, and how a little animated mouse can provoke such intense emotions in the 1986 animated musical, An American Tail.
 
The Sweet Cheese Recipe:
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 1 oz coffee liqueur
- Dash of chocolate syrup
- 2-3 oz cheese foam*
 
Combine vodka, coffee liquor, and chocolate syrup and stir with ice. Top with cheese foam and enjoy!

Kinky Boots (2019)

Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. This week Raven and Campbell discuss unsupportive partners, toxic masculinity, and incidental music in the 2019 tour of Kinky Boots. Tis a good time.
 
Negroni Recipe (Thanks Wyatt):
- 1.5 oz gin
- 1.5 oz campari
- 2 oz sweet vermouth (yeah we like it this way)
- Orange peel
- Orange bitters if you’re adventurous
 
Combine gin, campari, and vermouth in a glass with a big ole ice cube and stir. Express the orange peel and rub around the rim. Add bitters if you’re fun and enjoy!

Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper

Mark Twain who? This week Raven and Campbell discuss royal infidelity, incompetent henchmen, and animation choices in the first musical in the BCU (Barbie Cinematic Universe), Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper.
 
A Drink Like You Recipe:
- 1.5 oz gin
- 1 oz raspberry or blueberry simple syrup
- fresh mint
- prosecco
- edible glitter
 
Combine gin, syrup of choice, and fresh mint in a shaker with ice. Strain into a champagne flute and add the tiniest bit of edible glitter and give a quick stir. Top with prosecco.

Welcome to Falsettoland where you’re either laughing or crying hysterically. This week Raven and Campbell discuss vocal registers, found families, and inappropriate therapists in the 2016 revival of Falsettos.
 
Cosmopolitan Recipe:
- 1 oz vodka
- 1 oz cranberry juice (unsweetened)
- 0.5 oz Cointreau
- 0.5 oz lemon juice
- 0.5 oz simple syrup
- Lime wheel for garnish
 
Combine vodka, cranberry juice, Cointreau, lemon juice, and syrup in a shake with ice. Strain into a martini glass and add a lime wheel for garnish.

The King and I (1999)

At least the drink was good. This week Raven forces Campbell to watch the worst animated movie he has ever seen. Together they ask questions such as why? how? and what? while discussing the 1999 animated adaptation of The King and I.
 
The Has Nothing to do with this Musical Thai Tea Cocktail:
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz vanilla simple syrup
- 4 oz cooled Thai iced tea
- 2 oz sweetened condensed milk
 
Stir simple syrup, vodka, and tea in a glass. Add condensed milk and ice.
